The ability to interpret a chest x-ray is one of the most valuable skills that a Respiratory Therapist can acquire. Due to the digital nature of the imaging process, chest x-rays can be rapidly taken, interpreted, and acted upon in the clinical setting. Valuable information such as the presence of a pleural effusion or a pneumothorax, or position of an endotracheal tube can be determined at the bedside. During this course, you will cover the basics of a chest X-ray, systematic interpretation, the use of portable chest films, ultrasound imaging, and the use of imaging as it relates to ARDS.
