Restraint training for ancillary departments such as Respiratory Therapy is required every two years by the Joint Commission. In this course, you will learn about the following aspects of restraint use:
- Philosophy of restraint use, restraint definitions and risks
- Restraint alternatives, types of restraints, and medication management
- Restraint orders, documentation, and assessment
- Discontinuation of restraints and use of seclusion as necessary
